ID-Coop promotes cooperativism as a local economic resource for minorities and can provide a number of different services to the community, allowing them to enhance their socio-economic position. The project thus seeks to create a sustainable form of enterprise and raises awareness among the majority population about the cultural and economic added-value provided by minorities.
The main focus of the project is to create a model of cooperative that is based on previously collected data on cooperativism, thematic studies of each one of the ID-Coop areas (WP3), and actual needs as established through research. The model will be tested in those areas deemed to be particularly disadvantaged (WP4-5).
The following activities will be carried out:
- Thematic studies of the ID-Coop areas and the development of thematic indicators regarding the economic, legal-institutional, geographic and linguistic-cultural conditions of these areas (WP3)
- Development of a model of cooperative that is devised for and by the local community, that responds to local needs, and that promotes minority cultures (WP4)
- Application of the model in collaboration with local communities (WP5)
- Analysis of the model and development of guidelines that render the model transferrable to other places (WP6)
